Documentation / Operating model

Principles and baseline

The common minimum and the space for local decisions.

Purpose

A policy matters when someone can act on it. KDV connects what you want to govern, who can decide, how work flows and what demonstrates that it works.

Minimum baseline

Every shared product needs ownership, a contract, a classification, policy-based access and an audit trail. Each ecosystem adapts role names, approval routes, thresholds and review cadences around that minimum.

  • Named ownership
  • Versioned contract
  • Classification
  • Access by policy
  • Auditability

Local adaptation

Keep the baseline visible while adapting names, review routes, thresholds and delivery tools. Record the scope, approver and reason for an exception. A local variation should not silently remove ownership or make a decision untraceable.

Five operating layers

Principles & policies

What must hold true. Purpose, classification, retention and the minimum governance baseline.

Organisation & roles

Who decides and delivers. Explicit owners and stewards, with responsibilities assigned at the right scope.

Processes & decisions

How work moves. Cultivate, govern, share and activate, with review and exception paths.

Controls & enablers

How rules take effect. Contracts, quality checks, access policies, catalogues and operational safeguards.

Evidence & improvement

How we know and learn. Decision records, test results, usage, incidents and agreed outcome measures.
