Evidence and improvement

Observe execution and outcomes without inventing maturity scores.

Purpose

State the population, time window, definition and accountable reviewer for each indicator. A missing test result is missing evidence, not a pass. Look at trends, exceptions and fitness for purpose. The checklist is a discussion aid; these measures do not produce an official DCAM score or an asserted equivalence to a maturity model.

Evidence and review

  • Ownership coverage: products with named owner / products in scope.
  • Contract coverage: shared products with a current agreement / shared products in scope.
  • Quality adherence: successful evaluated checks / evaluated checks, with sampling and period stated.
  • Access lead time: elapsed time from a complete request to an implemented decision; record exclusions.
  • Value: a use-case-specific outcome agreed with the consumer, not a count of assets alone.

Working sequence

At each publication

Review contract, ownership, quality and access terms before release.

Weekly, as a starting point

Triage issues, access requests and contract changes with the delivery team.

Monthly, as a starting point

Review outcomes, exceptions and policy improvements with the governance forum.

Review questions

  • Who can decide, and is the acting role explicit?
  • What rule or agreement authorises the action?
  • What evidence demonstrates execution and its limitations?
  • When will the outcome or exception be reviewed?
